Throughout the year Southend Pier plays host to a number of fantastic events, from live music and puppetry, to spooktacular Halloween fun and even a visit from Santa, as well as visiting Tall Ships, which offer unique trips and a taste of the nautical life.
If you walk along Southend-on-Sea’s High Street, towards the sea, your eye will be drawn in a straight line towards the longest pleasure Pier in the world.
The visitor information centre on the pier is the place to start, being the place to book boat trips etc and having information on the immediate amenities.
The Southend Pier Museum boasts an exciting range of vintage train and tram carriages plus pictorial memorabilia and period costumes.
Fishing is permitted on the pier at the Stem or the Pier Head.
Pier Trains leave the shore end of the pier on the hour and half hour on a seasonal timetable.
